Texture painting trends worth the money
Texture has moved away from the heavy swirled patterns of a decade ago toward finishes that read as material: plaster, lime, concrete, raw metal.

Finishes people are asking for
Four finishes account for most of our texture work now, and each suits a different kind of room.
- Limewash and Venetian plaster, ₹150–₹250 per sq.ft: soft mottled depth for living rooms and bedrooms
- Micro-concrete, ₹120–₹200 per sq.ft: flat industrial grey for studies and home offices
- Travertine and stone effect, ₹100–₹180 per sq.ft: entrance foyers and TV units
- Brushed metallic, ₹90–₹160 per sq.ft: dining walls and bar counters
One wall, chosen carefully
Texture works when it has a reason to be where it is: behind the bed, behind the TV, on the wall you see from the entrance. Applied to a wall with no focus, it reads as decoration for its own sake.
Keep the remaining walls quiet. A textured wall next to three strongly coloured ones cancels itself out.
Always see a sample panel on your wall
Photographs of texture are unreliable because the finish is about how it catches light. Ask for a 2x2 ft panel applied on the actual wall, and look at it in daylight and under your evening lighting before approving.
Think about removal
Texture is harder to undo than paint: it needs scraping and re-puttying, which typically costs ₹15 to ₹25 per sq.ft. If you rent or expect to redecorate within three years, wallpaper is the more reversible option.
