Apartment painting checklist for Bangalore flats

Before you book

Most delays we see come from paperwork, not painting.

• Check permitted working hours and days with your association
• Submit worker ID copies and the contractor's details to the security desk
• Confirm whether the service lift may be used for material
• Ask about a refundable interior work deposit
• Tell immediate neighbours the dates, especially if you share a wall

Preparing your flat

You do not need to empty the flat. Move small breakables, electronics and clothing out of the rooms being painted; everything else can be stacked centrally and sheeted by the crew.

Take photos of existing floor and fitting condition on day one. It takes five minutes and removes any argument later.

During the work

Check the wall after putty and sanding, before primer. That is the last moment when correcting an uneven surface is cheap. Run your hand over it; ripples you can feel will be visible under evening light.

Confirm the paint buckets on site match the product codes in your quote, and that seals were opened in front of you.

At handover

Walk each room with the supervisor and with the lights on, not in daylight alone.

• Cut-in lines at ceiling and skirting are sharp and straight
• No roller marks or patchy sheen visible at an angle
• Switch plates, hinges and floor free of paint spots
• Corners and behind doors are fully coated
• Leftover paint and empty buckets labelled and handed over
